Understanding the New "Two-Exam" System
For the 2026 session, CBSE has introduced a Two-Exam
System.
- Exam
1: This is the main board examination (results declared today).
- Exam
2 (Optional): Students who wish to improve their scores in up to three
subjects can appear for a second exam later in the year. The board will
consider the best of the two scores for the final certificate.
Passing Criteria and Re-evaluation
- Passing
Marks: You must score at least 33% in each subject (Theory +
Practical/Internal combined).
- Verification
of Marks: If you are unsatisfied with your result, the portal for Verification
of Marks and Photocopy of Answer Sheets will open within 5 days
of the result declaration.
- Compartment
Exams: Students who failed to secure passing marks in one or two
subjects can apply for the Supplementary/Compartment exams, expected to be
held in July 2026.
Pro Tip: Ensure that your name, date of birth, and
parents' names are spelled correctly on the digital marksheet. In case of any
error, report it to your school's principal immediately to initiate a
correction request with CBSE.
