Legend of “Maa Kushmanda”:
Two
asuras, Mali and Sumali, sons of the legendary asura warrior Sukesh, were once
engaged in a magnificent tapas to appease Lord Shiva and win his blessings
following Jatukasura's defeat. They were doing such hard tapas that the
positive ions they were releasing from their bodies caused them to shine. The
earth was glowing more and more, and Suryadev began to feel nervous and
interested. One day Suryadev made the decision to visit and see the luminous
bodies on Earth. The planets are fixed in their positions by the laws of nature
until and until they undergo a change in composition. Because he was so
inquisitive, Suryadev travelled from his location in the solar system to Earth
to witness the luminous bodies. The universe as a whole was harmed by this.
Suryadev ignored everything and approached the two brothers more closely. Both brothers were lost in their meditation, not realizing that the Sun was rising. Both brothers turned to ashes as the sun approached. When Shiva realized this, he became enraged with Suryadev. He inflicted an incapacitating blow to Suryadev with his Trishul. The result was total darkness across the solar system and the planet. Anyone could see the universe with their unaided eyes because of how terrifying the darkness was. In addition, it resulted in a loss of gravity and an imbalance among the celestial bodies. The godfather Rishi Kashyapa sobbed upon witnessing Suryadev in a comatose state.
Shiva was cursed by Rishi Kashyap to kill his own son one day, just as he had killed his son. Shiva approached Parvati and asked her to help him fix his error. By telling her that she is the mother of the universe and the source of all energy, he helped her recognize this. Parvati travelled to the location of Suryadev in the cosmos. With her fierceness, she formed a spherical body full of light and fire that is today known as Sun. Parvati blossomed like the enduring splendor of the cosmos when she emerged from that fire ball.
Sukesh and Rishi Kashyap arrived to the spot later. Sukesh was brimming with tears. Still, Rishi Kashyap was furious. Shiva was cursed by Rishi Kashyap to kill his own child one day, just as he had killed his son. Shiva requested that Sukesh and Rishi Kashyap go see Devi Parvati in order to find a solution to this problem. To revive Suryadev, Rishi Kashyap accompanied Devi Aditi to Devi Parvati. Devi Parvati fetched two pots from the kitchen. Devi Parvati commanded them both to pour their blood into a single vessel. Using his strength, Rishi Kashyap poured blood from both of their bodies into the pot. Amrit then started to automatically fill the other pot.
Parvati requested that Amrit and the holy blood be poured into Suryadev's lips by Rishi Kashyap. Rishi Kashyap promised her in exchange that she would give birth to the greatest and best God in the universe. Bringing the ashes of Mali and Sumali to Devi Parvati, Sukesh and his spouse Devavati also paid a visit. Devavati received an egg from Devi Parvati in her womb. The offspring hatched from the egg later on were devilish. Nonetheless, Parvati's excellent deeds earned her the title Kushmanda. Whereas Ushma indicates heat and Anda means an egg-shaped circular structure, Kushma means demonic and Anda means one or Ku.
Subsequently, Suryadev asked Devi Kushamanda to happen at Suryasan in Suryalok. Kushmanda have the strength and power to survive in the sun's core. The Sun's brilliance originates from her luminosity. It is supposed that she directs Surya, the Sun God.
