Origins: In the Rigveda, Saraswati was initially personified as
a sacred river (the Saraswati River). She was revered for her

of knowledge that purifies the mind.

Legend: According to the Brahmanda Purana, when Lord Brahma
created the universe, he realized it lacked form and silence reigned. To

The last three days of Navaratri (Maha Saptami to Maha Navami) are
dedicated to her, specifically for the Ayudha Puja or Vidya Puja.
